We asked over a thousand active women in Sweden about their sports bras. The answers explain why so many hold back during their workouts.
Most conversations about training focus on programs, nutrition, and motivation. Almost none focus on the garment that determines how comfortable a workout actually feels. Yet the responses show that the sports bra affects both performance and workout enjoyment more than most people think.
Seven in ten say they have at some point skipped exercises, left out intervals, or slowed the pace because the support isn't enough. That is not a willpower problem. It is an equipment problem.
When we asked what a perfect sports bra would have, women answered almost unanimously: real support that keeps the breasts still, a front closure, nothing that chafes under the arms, and the ability to adjust the fit themselves.
None of that is technically impossible. It's just unusual for everything to be in the same garment. Most models choose one thing and sacrifice the rest: compression bras provide support but are impossible to take off, soft models are comfortable but let go of the support, and zip models chafe in the crooks of the arms instead.
Gymfit EmpowerFit Sports Bra is designed based on exactly the four points the survey highlights:
