I Thought I Was Just Lazy

Illustration: en rödhårig man vid skrivbord, trött och tveksam, känslan av att tro att man bara är lat.

I thought I was just lazy.

I @everydaystory · 2/18

For years, I was convinced I was simply lazy.

I @everydaystory · 3/18

I would sit down to handle something simple, like replying to an email or starting a small task, and… nothing happened.

I @everydaystory · 4/18

It wasn't that I didn't want to do it. I really did.

But my brain would go off track immediately: I'd open the computer, check one thing, and suddenly I was watching random videos or cleaning my desk instead.

I @everydaystory · 6/18

The most frustrating part? I was completely aware of what was happening.

I @everydaystory · 7/18

That inner voice that kept shouting “Just start!” only made it worse.

I @everydaystory · 8/18

What confused me most was how inconsistent it was.

I @everydaystory · 9/18

Some days I could hyperfocus for hours and get everything done. Other days I couldn't even open the right tab in the browser. No middle ground.

I @everydaystory · 10/18

I kept blaming it on a lack of discipline. “Try harder.” But no matter how much I pushed myself, it never helped.

Eventually I started reading about ADHD, and suddenly everything clicked: the constant distractions, the overthinking, and the procrastination despite knowing better.

I @everydaystory · 12/18

So I decided to try different solutions. I wasn't expecting a miracle, just something that could make everyday life a little less of a struggle.

First, I went the medical route. My doctor prescribed stimulants, common first-line options because they can quickly affect dopamine and norepinephrine (focus, attention, impulses).

I @everydaystory · 14/18

For me: yes to focus, but also side effects like racing thoughts, reduced appetite, a wired or numb feeling, not sustainable in the long run. I also tried Strattera: okay, but subtle and slow.

After that, I explored more natural alternatives. On a whim, I tried GymFit Mushroom + Ashwagandha Gummies. “Mushroom and ashwagandha for focus?” sounded exotic, but I gave them a shot anyway.

After a few weeks of daily use, I noticed a clear change. Calmer head. Easier to get started without the mental tug-of-war. Less distraction and overthinking, and lower resistance.

I still have bad days, but they're much more manageable now. It feels like I've found something that works with my brain, not against it.

I @everydaystory · 18/18

If you're tired of concentration problems, guilt around procrastination, or constant mental noise: for me, Focus & Calm Mushroom + Ashwagandha Gummies became the unexpected winner after trying so many other things.

Sometimes the gentlest approach is the one that lasts.

I started during a heavy work period. Sleep became calmer, and I didn't feel as wired in the evening.
